1950 Chevy Pick-up

The pick-up is built from an AMT kit. As can be seen, I've done quite a bit of detail work to make the vehicle appear as one that might be found behind some Midwestern barn. Much of the "dirt" is actually earth-tone artist's chalks scraped and mixed with a matte medium to hold them in place. There has also been some heating and bending of the styrene plastic parts. Two of the tires I hollowed out the lower section that would rest on the ground and heat-deformed them to appear flattened. Most of all, just time (several months) and attention detail and a clear vision of what I wanted the finished model to look like. Click on the thumbnail photos to view the full size shot.
